This is the 1st movement of a 4-movement suite. It is about a couple who meet in mid-life and set out for years of happiness. The 6/8 LH is a mixture of broken 8th note - 10th intervals and a melodic pattern of C, Bb, Ab, Eb, Ab, Bb. The RH moves from simple 8th note melody to a 3rd interval reprise. The RH then moves to a 16th note “slide” introducing each measure. The rest of this movement alternates between that slide and 8th note melody.
